Details 'Brilliant' is a dense, upright shrub or bushy tree to about 3m tall. It has chestnut-brown branches and the coarsely-toothed foliage emerges rusty-bronze in spring, turning green for summer then orange and red in autumn. The single, white flowers appear in mid-spring, before the leaves, and may be followed by purplish-black fruit.
